RHINOCEROS present at Faraday Conference
Partner FORD OTOSAN will present their activities carried out in projects RHINOCEROS and BATRAW, aiming at new routes towards reuse and sustainable recycling of LIBs. Their presentation will be supported by the conference abstract “A holistic End of Life approach of EV Batteries after first life in vehicle and production scrap with OEMs perspective”.
The Faraday Institution
The Faraday Institution is the UK’s independent institute for electrochemical energy storage research, skills development, market analysis, and early-stage commercialisation. It brings together research scientists and industry partners on commercially valuable projects to reduce battery cost, weight, and volume; improve performance and reliability; and develop whole-life strategies including recycling and reuse.
Several EU funded projects were clustering together on the 14th of November 2022 at the Raw Materials Week in Brussels to present their objectives and activities related to the recovery and production of raw materials for battery applications from European resources. The clustering event was open for anyone interested in learning about the key activities in this field. Topics covered by those projects ranged from EV batteries dismantling and reuse, to the recovery of materials such as cobalt, nickel, manganese, graphite, lithium and others from secondary as well as primary resources available in Europe.
This clustering event was organised by the CROCODILE, RHINOCEROS and
These projects represent an emerging innovation ecosystem in Europe which encompasses nearly 100 organizations driving the recycling of batteries and the production of raw materials for battery applications from primary and secondary resources available in Europe.
